A Road Trip Quilt
A Block Of The Month Adventure Quilt, designed by Kate Colleran and Tammy Silvers of Tamarinis.
This quilt came from the idea of a road trip across the United States and depicts different aspects of the country.
If you look closely at the quilt, you can almost see that it represents the United States, from shore to shore. There are trees, there are mountains, there are blocks to symbolize the ocean, the sun and the stars along with blocks that represent the various aspects of a road trip – roundabouts, mile markers and roadside blooms.
The pattern is set up as a block of the month with 11 block designs, and then the 12th month puts it all together.
The quilt is fat quarter friendly; you need 24 fat quarters and a background. You can use prints, use solids, use tone on tones or batiks- it will all work!
