Learn to cut and sew my goof-proof braid method with my Braid Template while making this fun and easy table runner. Table Scraps is a great pattern for using up some of your scrap strips! The braid is a creative technique to add to your quilting toolbox. You will be amazed at how many uses it has.
Students will learn to cut braid pieces using the Braid Template, how to sew them together and trim for a perfect braid while using the braids to create a quick table runner!! We will discuss how color impacts the look of your braid and ways to create braids of different looks.

Fabrics:
You will need 8-9 strips 2 ½" x WOF for the braid section. LEAVE the strips long- we will cut together in class! You can use your scraps or pick fabric specifically for your table runner. I had a class where one woman used all her leftover Christmas fabric to make gifts for the next holiday!
Fabric A- sashing and borders for the runner
- 1 strip 2” x WOF- sub cut into: 4 rectangles 2” x 8 ½”.
- 4 strips 2 ½” x WOF- sub cut into 2 rectangles 2 ½” x 8 ½”; the rest of the strips will be for the long borders.
We may not get to add the sashings and borders in class but you will have them ready, just in case! You won’t need binding or backing for class. See pattern for details.
Don't want to pick fabrics and just want to sew? I have fabric kits that include 9 fabric strips 2 ½" x WOF for the braid and coordinating fabric for the sashing, borders and binding. Backing is not included.
