FAQ - PDF Download patterns
How do I get my pattern?
When you complete your order for a pdf download pattern, you'll see a link on your order confirmation page. You will also receive a follow up email that includes that same link. Simply click the link (and follow any instructions) to get your download file.
I clicked but can't find my file - where is it?
There are a few different ways your computer or device will store a downloaded pattern. Sometimes the file will open automatically. More likely, the pattern will be downloaded to a folder on your device. That might be the Downloads folder, or it might be a Documents folder. If the file does not open right up for you, check those folders.
If you're on an iPhone or iPad:
- Open the Files app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap the "Browse" icon at the bottom of the app.
- Tap "Downloads" under Favorites.
- If you don't see the Downloads folder under favorites, look for it under iCloud Drive, On My iPhone, or On My iPad.
The file didn't download correctly, or the file is corrupt.
Sometimes, likely due to internet connections, something happens during the download process and the file gets mangled. Try downloading again, or contact us and we'll help get the good file to you.
My templates didn't print out the right size, what can I do?
Very often, the default print format on your printer for pdf files will be "shrink to fit". That means the image on the page is shrunk down a little bit to fit the printer margins. In your print settings, make sure the Page Sizing is set to Actual Size. Then the templates should print out the right size. We usually have a note on the page that either gives you a 1" x 1" square for test, or tells you how big the template should be. Always check that before you start cutting fabric!
Is my file available forever?
Once you download the file, it is yours to keep - just like if you bought a paper pattern. Your download link will only work for 3 download attempts within 30 days of your order. If you have any questions, or need help with that, just contact us.
Do you send pattern updates?
If there is ever a pattern correction, you will automatically receive an email with a new link to the updated pattern. It will be sent to the same email address you used when purchasing the pattern.
